Situated in the beautiful hills of Rwanda's western province, the Ngororero district is home to a number of Lithium-Caesium-Tantalum, (LCT), pegmatite deposits, of which, we have carried out feasibility studies on two brownfield sites: Muriro and Rukaragata.
The feasibility work on both mines has proven our ability to obtain outstanding recovery rates for tin and tantalum with a resource capable of supporting our refining operations for decades to come.
Lithium, kaolin, silica, and mica recovery rates, and their associated resource definition, remain part of the ongoing expansion of the feasibility study as part of our commitment to zero-waste mining.
With safety and sustainability being at the forefront of all of our decision making, we have invested substantially in developing the mines to be open-pit operations, as opposed to tunnelling which is typical to the region.
This ensures that as mining activities mature, the area can be transformed to flat and fertile agricultural land, guaranteeing jobs and economic stability in the rural community far beyond the life of the mine.
